“U.S. intelligence agencies in cooperation with their counterparts in allied nations during World War II created it [the Holocaust] to destroy the image of their opponents in Germany, and to justify war and massive destruction against military and civilian facilities of the Axis powers, and especially to hit Hiroshima and Nagasaki with the atomic bomb.”
That is the perspective of Fathi Shihab-Eddim, a high-ranking aide to Egyptian President Mahmoud Morsi. Don’t bother trying to piece together the logic of his statement. There is none. In fact, he maintains that there was no mass murder of six million Jews, but that they were all clandestinely moved to safety in the United States.
“And so begins the story of Miami, Florida.” That part is not true. But I wonder if he was tempted to say that before he stopped to realize that Cubans, and even Americans, comprise part of Miami’s population.
Shihab’s remarks were published as a rebuttal to the commemoration of Holocaust Remembrance Day on January 27th. Before dismissing Shihab as simply a nut-job, one has to understand that this is not an isolated case on one man’s thinking or addressing the Holocaust in this manner. Many, many Arabs deny the existence of the Holocaust and believe that it was a hoax perpetrated to help build support for the cause of Zionism and the repatriation of Jew to their homeland in Israel.
Denial is a strange thing. No matter what material or historical facts that you deny the existence thereof, your denial does not make them not exist. They still exist. They still happened. And you look like a fool to those who know the reality. You only look like a leader to the ignorant and the insane who know nothing other than what you have told them.
What concerns me most is not the ranting of Shihab and others like Mahmoud Ahmadinejad is what could happen as the number of first-hand eyewitnesses and victims of the Nazi scourge dwindles and passes away. This is why I am grateful for organizations like Yad Vashem, the Corrie ten Boom Virtual Museum, and the Holocaust Memorial museums, and the Jerusalem World Center and for their establishment of a lasting testimony to both the atrocities committed to most, the survival of some, and the courage of all the Jews under the Nazi regime.
As long as delusional men like, Hitler, Ahmadinejad, Morsi, Abbas, Shihab, and others continue to dispense their lies and foment hatred against the Jews amongst Muslims and Arabs, there is not going to be peace in the Middle East and Israel needs to be on guard.
We are in the last days. Israel has battles yet to face according to the prophets, but she will emerge victorious by the mighty, righteous right hand of God. Pray with us for her peace and protection. (Psalm 122:6) Praying in accordance with God’s will is the kind of prayers that get answered. All of Israel knows that the Holocaust was a horror, not a hoax. Those who oppose Israel will soon find out that neither is the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob a hoax. They will find out what it means to be blessed by the Lord for blessing Israel and, in a first-hand experience, what it means to be cursed by Him for cursing Israel.
